Desk Bound Posture (How to reduce desk related repetitive Strain)

People can spend long periods in a seated position and, when a poor ergonomic set up is used, can suffer discomfort and strain to their neck or back.

At The Spine and Sports Injury Clinic Thanet (covering Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs) we have developed an advice sheet to help people improve their desk set up, as well as reduce the risk of repetitive strain injury to their back and neck. This is part of our drive to help people improve and adapt their lifestyle to allow them to take better control of their pain complaints. The sheet will discuss preferable sitting positions and will also talk about methods to reduce the repetitive impact of a desk bound position.

Making slight changes to your position and habits can help reduce the need for treatment and keep you pain free. It can also go a long way to improve any current pains you may have as a result of a poor desk set up. Should you suffer from any form of persistent back or neck pain, or even tension related headaches, then contact us to find out how these complaints can be managed and resolved.
